MINI-PIGS

As tame descendants of the wild boar species, they show the same behaviour as all pigs in miniature:
These social animals live within a herd in mother-family groups; everyone has a fixed place here, which is determined by a solid hierarchy.
Boars are solitary animals that only visit a herd during mating season.
Pigs are very clean animals - excreta are never found in their territory - toilet visits always take place outside!

Caring for pigs
Stable + run: an area of at least 6 m²/animal, for a second animal additionally at least 3 m². 3 m², run per animal at least 10m², sown runs must be used as alternating pastures to protect the sward and must be considerably larger (> 500 m²).
Flat, heat-insulated stable floor and resting boxes, the open side of which is closed by plastic strip curtains and the area of which must be dimensioned in such a way that the animals can lie stretched out on their sides (approx. 1 m²), the height should be 30 - 40 cm above the height of the back (< 1 m).
Feeding place concreted, feeding containers fixed
Fenced run, at least 80 -100 cm high
According to Annex 4 of the Pig Housing Hygiene Ordinance, double fencing is required for free-range husbandry to prevent contact with wild boars (potential carriers of European swine fever).
